Grief is something we all experience, yet it often goes unspoken. With this series, my goal was to visually explore the five stages of grief; Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance through photography. Each photograph is intended to convey the emotional impact of these stages by reflecting the inner experience outside through the use of natural light, color, and composition. This project was inspired by a music album about the five stages of grief and a personal desire to better understand and express the complexity of loss. Grief doesn’t follow a straight line, and no one experiences it the same way. By creating images that feel raw and real, I hope to give viewers something to connect to whether it’s a reflection of their own journey or a deeper empathy for others.
